When is registration for returning members?
If you have previously been a member of Corvallis Indoor Park, you can register on Thursday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
When is registration for new members?
If you have never been a member of Corvallis Indoor Park, you can register on Friday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 10 a.m., the first 15 people will begin orientation and we will give out assigned return times (at half-hour intervals) for everyone else in line. That way, you can go get a coffee, visit the library or play at Central Park instead of trying to keep your kids happy while you wait in line.
Where is registration?
We hold registration in the same room on the second floor of the First Presbyterian Church in Corvallis where the Indoor Park is housed. The church is located on 8th and Monroe in downtown Corvallis, near the library and Central Park. Click here for a map.
What do I need to do before registration?
If you go to the home page of our website, www.CorvallisIndoorPark.org, you can create an account if you don’t already have one. If you have an account but don’t remember the password, you can use the same form on the home page to send you a new password. If you have an account all ready before you arrive, it will save time.
You’ll also need to bring your calendar (on your smartphone or paper) so you can sign up for jobs and your checkbook to pay for your membership.
How much does it cost for a membership?
For one term only, the cost is $50 per family. For the entire year, the cost is $80 per family. If you only went three times a month when the park is open, that’s less than $3 per visit! If you went once a week, that’s about $2 each trip.
Childcare providers can join for $60/term or $100/year. This allows you to bring multiple unrelated children of kindergarten age or younger to the park under your supervision. Each child who comes to the Indoor Park must have a signed waiver of liability on file. The childcare provider is responsible for performing his/her jobs and attending membership meetings.
Can I bring my kids to registration?
Yes, but note that the Park will not be open for play. You will have to keep your kids with you at all times while you go through orientation.
What happens at orientation?
Orientation is held for new members only and is designed to give you an overview of the Park rules and expectations. Typically, orientation lasts from 20 to 30 minutes. First, you’ll view a short video and a board member will answer any questions you have. Then, you can sign up for jobs. Finally, you’ll check out and pay for your membership.
How do I sign up for jobs?
You’ll be able to sign up for available jobs at registration. Park closings, vacuuming and party help jobs are on weekdays and toy cleanings are on weekends to accommodate working parents. You can see the job descriptions here and board members will be available to help on registration day.
Job signups are on a first come, first served basis so please be flexible. You are responsible for writing down the date and time of your jobs and showing up to complete them.
What if I can’t come to registration?
We understand that many parents work and can’t come during the morning registration hours. We do maintain a waiting list for parents who can’t attend registration. If all the membership spots are filled by people present on registration day, we hold your name and info for the next available spot (if someone cancels their membership or moves). If there are still open spots after registration day, we’ll work with you to schedule an orientation that meets your needs. Email us with your name and info if you’re in this situation.
What if I get put on the waiting list?
If you are put on the waiting list, our Registration Manager will contact you and let you know your position on the list and the next steps. Over the past two years, we have typically been able to offer spots to most of the people on the waiting list by the end of October.
Do you have any scholarships available?
Our board evaluates how many places we have remaining after registration and how many people have asked about getting a scholarship before we determine if any scholarships will be given. We typically discuss this at our October board meeting. If we do have scholarships, you will be asked to apply by submitting a written statement about your financial need and desire to have an Indoor Park membership.
